Social Media Account Coordinator
KC Projects is a dynamic and innovative public relations firm dedicated to building and enhancing the reputations of our diverse clientele. We specialize in creating compelling narratives and managing social media strategies that drive engagement and achieve measurable results.
The Social Media Account Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of PR campaigns and social media initiatives. This individual will work closely with the PR team to manage client accounts, develop content, monitor media coverage, and engage with online communities. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with excellent communication skills and a passion for storytelling and digital engagement. The candidate should also have a passion for graphic design and developing engaging content for client campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
Create engaging content for press materials, blogs, and newsletters
Assist in the design and development on-brand social media content (graphics, videos, photos and/or copy) that resonates with clients’ objectives for multiple accounts on multiple social media platforms
Manage client social media accounts, including content planning, scheduling and community engagement.
Develop media lists for client announcements and press outreach
Assist in development and execution of PR and social media campaigns.
Draft press releases, newsletters, media pitches, blogs, and press materials on behalf of clients
Assist with press release distribution and media outreach
Organize logistics for meetings and events
On-site participation and engagement for client events and community outreach
Research up-and-coming media trends and platforms
Monitor online client presences, media coverage and social media analytics, prepare reports, and provide insights to clients.
Track all press coverage and social media growth for clients
Provide support in researching, compiling, and analyzing media coverage for clients (for example, produce news clippings, organize media recap reports)
Compile and summarize client activity through internal weekly and monthly reports, as needed
Draft and curate copy for media kits, websites, press releases, and other deliverables
Support account management team to integrate goal-oriented public relations and digital campaigns
Provide general administrative support to the PR team, including scheduling meetings and organizing client files.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
1-2 years of experience in public relations, social media management, or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong graphic design skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
Highly proficient in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X) and social media management tools
Basic knowledge of media relations and experience in pitching to journalists
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and digital engagement
Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) is a plus

The Account Manager role is key to the success of these values and serves as the bridge between leadership and account executives. The position will have responsibility for the direct management and coaching of account executives and junior or intern members of the team.
The role is to implement and create strategies and activities with input from supporting team members, as well as proactively looking for opportunities or devising ideas to contribute to the team effort. The individual we seek should be a creative, proactive, and ambitious operator who has a deep understanding of the changing media landscape. The ideal candidate must have a thorough working knowledge of all major social media channels with a passion for communications.
This is a working leadership role with ownership of key accounts while leading a team. The right candidate should also be self-sufficient, capable of running accounts on their own, with minimal guidance. Knowledge and experience of developing new accounts would be a plus.
Key responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Manage day-to-day goals and make assignments for the team.
Leads the design, review, evaluation and progress of campaigns and projects; identifying gaps; and recommending changes and improvements.
Drive successful media relations efforts on behalf of clients through key message development, media training, pitching compelling stories and building strong relationships with industry and national media and influencers.
Manage, maintain, design, and develop strategic content for accounts on multiple social media platforms.
Participate in and help oversee the devolvement of goal-oriented public relations and digital campaigns.
Driving the media relations program for clients. An account manager should control this area of accounts, reacting to media inquiries and proactively looking for opportunities, working alongside leadership and support team.
Delivers accurate written communications and can write a range of copy including press releases, quotes, emails, newsletters, status and contact reports, and social media materials.
Develop strong creative deliverables for social media, presentations, newsletters, and client-centric branding.
Preferred Experiences:
Proactively stays current with client-specific media, industry and digital developments and seeks to apply this knowledge for their work.
Understands the importance of and relationship between client service and profitability and works within the boundaries of budgets and time.
Running the features programs for clients, identifying opportunities, liaising with clients on suitable approaches and drafting copy and designing creative campaigns.
Writing monthly activity reports, quarterly / annual client reviews and new business proposals.
Participating in presentations to existing clients and at new business pitches
Confident in delivering verbal approaches to media – consumer, B2B and trade – to sell in ideas and discuss opportunities.
What you bring to KC Projects:
5+ years of previous PR experience
3+ years of B2B experience with media relations and content development management experience
Strong relationships with the press and established media contacts
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated problem solver

Excellence communication and writing skills
Enthusiastic, supportive team player with a positive attitude
Strong graphic design skills working with a range of brands and industries
Experience in team management and development
Undergraduate degree or equivalent ideally in PR, Communications, Marketing, Business or Journalism

Candidates must have great interpersonal and be able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment. We appreciate a passion for presentation, social media and creativity. You should have a college-level understanding of communications and the desire to learn more about the industry.
